Description
Bile acids are produced from cholesterol in the liver and play a crucial role in the nutrition of aquatic animals. They are key components in the digestion and breakdown of fats and other lipid-based compounds in feed. Runeon II, a product of Lachacne, contains 75% bile acid. This product enhances fat metabolism and protects the hepatopancreas and digestive system of shrimp, promoting aquatic health, improving feed conversion efficiency, and reducing production costs.
Mechanism of Action of Bile Acid in Farmed Shrimp:
Fat and Vitamin Absorption: Enhances the digestion and absorption of fats and fat-soluble vitamins.
Lipase Activity: Increases lipase enzyme activity.
Detoxification: Removes toxins by binding to them and preventing their absorption in the hepatopancreas.
Antioxidant Capacity: Boosts the antioxidant capacity of the hepatopancreas.
Enzyme Activation: Increases superoxide dismutase activity and strengthens chloroperoxidase and glutathione peroxidase enzymes.
Hepatopancreas Strengthening: Enhances hepatopancreas function, increases shrimp resistance to stress, and aids in fat oxidation.
Recommended Dosage for Growth Phase: 2 to 3 grams per kilogram of feed.
Bile Acid Application in Shrimp Breeding
Mechanism of Action in Broodstock and Larvae
Improved Egg Quality: Increases egg quality by providing better access to unsaturated fatty acids and growth energy.
Better Gonad Development: Promotes better access to nutrients for improved gonad development.
Enhanced Hatchability and Fertility: Increases hatching rate, fertilization percentage, and larval production.
Improved Immune System: Enhances the immune system of larvae and nauplii.
Moult Facilitation: Facilitates molting and the formation of new exoskeletons, speeding up larval and nauplii growth.
Larval Dosage: For dosage recommendations during the larval phase, please contact the R&D experts at Alborz Gostar Daru.
Role of Bile Acid in Shrimp Nutrition
Fat Breakdown: Bile acids help break down fats by acting as emulsifiers. Due to their hydrophilic nature and unique structure, they aid in breaking fats into smaller droplets, increasing the surface area and allowing digestive enzymes to work more efficiently.
Micelle Formation: Bile acids assist in the formation of micelles, small structures that capture fat compounds, enabling them to be absorbed through the intestinal walls and transported into the body’s internal environments.
Fat Absorption: Bile acids help absorb fats in the intestines by breaking down micelles and releasing smaller fat molecules, which are then absorbed and used in metabolic processes for energy and other body needs.
